Join Us

Anyone interested in joining us to sing is most welcome to come along and meet us at one of our rehearsals.  We do not audition anyone wishing to join but expect them to be able to hear a note within their voice range and copy it.  

We appreciate that many people aspire to join a choir but may feel unable to because they consider that the ability to read music is a prerequisite.  Being able to sight read is of course useful but not essential.  It is quite surprising how quickly those ‘tadpoles and telephone wires’ begin to make sense.  The choir is a team and we all work together to help each other to improve what singing skills we have and there is no lack of mutual support for anyone who wishes to join us.

Rehearsals take place between 7.30pm and 9.30pm on Tuesdays, term time only, at Broadwater Church of England Primary School, Rectory Gardens, Worthing, BN14 7TQ.  There is free parking in the school playground (see map below) and in the surrounding streets.  However please DO NOT park in small car park immediately in front of the 'Choir Entrance' as, in the evenings, this area has to be kept clear for Emergency Vehicles.

Please also be aware that the privately owned 24-hour pay and display car park nearby has some restricted parking bays.

The current membership fee is £150 per year or £30 per year for anyone in full-time education.  For new members the membership fee is £10 for the first term.  This fee includes the cost of music hire.

If your personal circumstances mean that this fee causes difficulties, please approach our Chair or Treasurer in confidence as we do not want anyone to be priced out of the choir.
